week 16: confidence

we are getting closer

Dear board, first of all - thanks for making the time.

I feel good about Jared.

I think we've found the big domino that, as soon as it's done, will knock many of the smaller ones down.

And it feels great, I'm excited.

Some of the major issues we are facing right now is;

  1. articles behind a paywall

  2. not enough insights

Both will be solved when this update gets rolled out, plus, it will ease up our content creation flow and hopefully increase organic traffic.

The catch? It's pretty complicated, but we'll figure it out (or Frederik will).

Loading time

Last week, we had a 13-second loading time at sign-up.

Today, it's 1 second.

This is due to a backend update being shipped earlier this week.

We are now able to find the custom selection of articles and deliver them straight after sign-up is complete, and this was critical.

Signing up for something you expect value immediately.

Our time to value:

  • 2 weeks ago = 8+ hours

  • 2 days ago = 13 seconds

  • 1 day ago = 1 sec

Backend should be good for now, and Frederik is fully focused on a major update.

YouTube and TikTok

We’ve reached 15 subscribers and have, as of writing this, 3.423 views within the last 48 hours. YouTube seems to be working quite well for us, when we look at how new our channel is.

I’m constantly trying to improve the video format while figuring out how to convert these views into users.

TikTok is booming as well, with 14,000+ views in the past week, which means that we are currently getting 3,000+ views a day on Jared’s organic channels.

The potential is there.

Interns

We are looking for interns studying software development or multimedia design. If you know anyone, or if you want to make a difference at a startup after the summer break, feel free to reach out to me.

Our numbers this week

Numbers are pretty much the same as last week, with a small loss of users. Nothing to worry about as we are currently focusing on building the foundation.
