week 6: valley of death
finding water

Dear board, first of all - thanks for making the time.
We are currently walking in the valley of death.
But if you didn’t know, I walked 100 kilometers in 20 hours last summer, so we are getting through this - jokes aside. This is the phase my last startup died at, the only difference is, that we were in the valley of death for 2.5 years.
Loss of motivation is not an option, we’ll keep walking.
Missing product market fit is not an option, we’ll keep pivoting.
I’m determined to make Jared work, and yeah - we are in the valley of death, but we are also just at the beginning of this journey.
We have gained new users this week, not many but we are in the positives.
Meanwhile, we are building version two of Jared - a whole new experience taking us closer to being the future of business news.
Content creator and ads
As mentioned last time, we’ve hired a content creator.
This has enabled us to publish videos daily on both Youtube Short, Instagram, and TikTok and we are slowly starting to see results even tough this is a long game.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to find written and graphic formats that could work for Jared on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
At first, I thought that we were just gonna share news but that is not gonna separate us. I need to develop a unique voice and angle that makes Jared deliver value.
Ads
I have started to run some ads again, low budget - around $50 a day.
The ad sets are a mix of what works for our competitors and the hook videos our content creator, Laura is creating for TikTok.
They are slowly starting to feed us users, but still at a bit too high cost, but again - we are only a couple of days in, and Meta usually takes some time to fine tune.
